In 2000, a group of cancer patients, with their friends and families, founded the Patients & Friends Research Fund at the University of Virginia Cancer Center. Since then, the fund has provided more than $3 million to support research at critical stages in the process, when promising ideas might otherwise go untested for lack of funding.

Every gift matters, and every dollar raised goes directly to cancer research at UVA. If you'd like to create a giving page to raise funds for the Patients & Friends Research Fund, please click here. Giving pages can be personalized and are easily shared via email and social media.

Your gift to Patients & Friends helps:

  • Put more scientists to work on finding better treatments for cancer
  • Quickly move discoveries out of the laboratory and into the clinic
  • Increase opportunities for patients to enroll in clinical trials
