Comprehensive Cancer Care

Cancer patients deserve access to the most advanced treatments possible in an environment that addresses their emotional and personal needs. As an academic medical center—and one of only 72 NCI-designated Cancer Centers nationwide—UVA brings tremendous expertise to caring for patients and their families. Here, more than 200 clinicians, caregivers, and researchers come together to advance cancer care, make patient outcomes better, and provide hope no matter the diagnosis.

UVA Cancer Center is pioneering exciting new treatments in the clinic, including a novel immunotherapeutic approach used for the first time in solid tumors and an innovative T-cell therapy for children with relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Our strengths in genomics, telemedicine, and imaging have strengthened our “cancer center without walls,” allowing us to serve remote communities through risk assessment and early screening.

Private support helps ensure we meet the needs of patients and their families across the Commonwealth and beyond. What’s more, it allows us to continue developing and sustaining programs targeted at prevention and early detection.
