UVA Brain Institute

Fearless Pursuit of Answers

Disorders of the brain can change a person forever. They can alter who the person is, how they act, how they feel, and even how they see the world. Fortunately the researchers and clinicians at UVA Brain Institute are answering critical questions about the brain that, a few year ago, we didn’t even know how to ask.

A Multidisciplinary Approach

UVA Brain connects talented faculty and students across the University to: develop better methods for understanding the brain; to seek new ways to prevent, treat, and cure brain diseases and injury; and to equip the next generation of neuroscientists and clinicians.

UVA Brain focuses research teams in key areas, including: Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and other neurodegenerative disorders; epilepsy; addiction; autism; traumatic brain injury; and neuroimmunology.
